During the War of 1812, at the Battle of Chippawa, 1814, hundreds of Six Nations warriors fought against each other suffering great losses. They vowed never to do this again. In this scene warriors sit on a symbolic pine tree representing a broken Great Tree of Peace consoling one another. One warrior is reaching to the other two with a condolence wampum string. There is hope, as there is a small green branch with a pine cone, that the Confederacy will rise from the ashes. All the details are historically accurate.
